The Mutts love Millerton State Park

Woodward Park, Fresno

There is a dog park within Woodward Park, however the entire park offers some nice on leash walking/jogging and squirrel gazing.  Unfortunately, you can’t go swimming in the lakes within the park, however there is a nice running/walking path down to the San Joaquin River where people have taken their dogs for a quick refreshing dip.

A little more of a drive, but a really fun place to get to in the Sierra National Forest, is Shaver Lake, approx. one hour from Fresno.  From there, The Dinkey Lakes Wilderness area offers even further adventures for you and your four legged friends!

Of course, there is ALWAYS the beauty of Yosemite if that is your destination! National Parks don’t allow dogs on trails, but Wawona, the South entrance to the park which is just about an hour and a half drive from Fresno, does offer a campground and a 3.5 mile trail that you can take with your Pup called the Meadow Lake Loop.
